  • Alder  > Hobbies > 1965 Bobsy SR-3 Project
Late 2008 we purchased a 1965 Bobsy SR-3 Sports Racer (serial #77). There were about 40 of these SR-3 cars built by Mr.Jerry Mong (Ohio). This car used to be owned and raced by Duck Waddle, a well known vintage racer who's owned and raced several Bobsy cars over the years. John Houlton owned this particular car for past five years and we purchased it from him. During the winter of 2008-09 it was refurbished including the fitment of a 1600 Ford push-rod engine. This is the engine of choice for Team Terrific Racing since the same power plant is used in the Titan FF and the Miller SR. An easy decision. Many Bobsy SR-3s have run similar power plants.

After buying the car, a week or so later John was nice enough to meet us half-way in Omaha to pick up the car. We did the deal in the parking lot of a Flying J truck stop.
